Brass bench plaques

Brass plaques engraved for memorial, garden and club benches. Brass has the warm, traditional look most people picture on a park bench, and engraved lettering stays readable for years outdoors. Engraved in our Cardiff workshop, with a free proof before anything is engraved and no minimum order.

A traditional look

Warm gold tones that suit hardwood, teak and painted benches alike, with classic fonts such as Classic Roman or Italic.

How brass ages

Brass naturally darkens outdoors unless it’s polished, and many families like the way it mellows. A little metal polish brings the shine back.

Brass or stainless steel?

For an exposed or coastal spot, or if nobody will be polishing it, stainless steel stays bright with almost no care. See stainless steel plaques.

Frequently asked questions

Will a brass bench plaque go dark?

Yes, over time. Brass naturally darkens outdoors unless it’s polished, and many families like the way it mellows. If you’d rather it stayed bright with no care, choose stainless steel.

How do I clean a brass plaque?

Use a little metal polish on a soft cloth, then buff it dry. Avoid scouring pads, which scratch the surface and the engraving.

What size brass plaque do I need?

An 8 x 3 inch plaque fits about 3–4 lines and a 6 x 4 inch plaque about 4–5 lines. The plaque designer shows how your wording fits each size.

Do brass plaques come with screws?

Yes. Plaques with screw holes come with stainless steel screws, so they won’t stain the wood.
