An occasional wipe with warm soapy water is all it needs. ## Clear from a distance Engraved lettering stands out against the silver. Classic Roman, Modern or Engraved capitals are the easiest to read from a step or two away. ## Brass or stainless steel? Prefer a warmer, traditional look and don’t mind it darkening with age? No. Stainless steel won’t rust or tarnish outdoors, which is why it’s often chosen for exposed and coastal spots. Is stainless steel or brass better for a bench? Both last well outdoors. Stainless steel stays silver with almost no care. Brass has a warmer, traditional look and darkens with age unless it’s polished. How do I clean a stainless steel plaque? Wipe it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry it. That’s usually all it needs. Do stainless steel plaques come with screws? Yes. Plaques with screw holes come with stainless steel screws, so they won’t stain the wood. ## More bench plaques - [Brass bench plaques](https://grimesengravers.com/brass-bench-plaques/) - [Memorial bench plaques for mum and dad](https://grimesengravers.com/memorial-bench-plaque-for-mum-and-dad/) - [Pet memorial bench plaques](https://grimesengravers.com/pet-memorial-bench-plaques/) - [All memorial bench plaques](https://grimesengravers.com/memorial-bench-plaques/) ## See your plaque before you order Try your wording, size and font in the designer, then send it for a quote within 24 hours.
