# Awards and plaques we’ve engraved

Real jobs from our Cardiff workshop, photographed by us. Every one was proofed by email and approved before we engraved it.

## Memorial bench plaques

Solid brass and stainless steel, fitted to park, garden and memorial benches around Cardiff. [About our bench plaques](https://grimesengravers.com/memorial-bench-plaques/) or see [wording ideas](https://grimesengravers.com/bench-plaque-wording-ideas/).

![Stainless steel memorial plaque on a wooden bench in Roath Park, Cardiff](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/stainless-steel-memorial-bench-plaque-roath-park-640.webp)

Stainless steel, in capitals, on a bench beside the flower beds in Roath Park.

![Polished brass memorial bench plaque for a couple, on a bench outside a park conservatory](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/brass-memorial-bench-plaque-roath-park-conservatory-640.webp)

Polished brass for a couple, with a line about the roses they planted.

![Stainless steel memorial plaque with four lines of text on a new hardwood bench](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/stainless-steel-memorial-bench-plaque-cardiff-park-640.webp)

Stainless steel on a new hardwood bench: name, dates and two short lines.

![Small stainless steel bench plaque reading In loving memory with two names](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/stainless-steel-bench-plaque-in-loving-memory-640.webp)

A short three-line plaque. Fewer words means bigger, easier-to-read letters.

![Long memorial bench plaque in a serif font on a weathered park bench](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/engraved-memorial-bench-plaque-serif-lettering-640.webp)

A wide plaque in a serif font, still crisp on an older, weathered bench.

Capitals on stainless steel, fixed to a painted council bench.

![Brass memorial bench plaque that has darkened naturally after many years outdoors](https://grimesengravers.com/assets/img/work/brass-memorial-bench-plaque-after-years-outdoors-640.webp)

Brass after many years outdoors. It darkens naturally, while stainless steel stays bright, so it’s worth thinking about when you choose.
